Bug description:
I switched to a guest session (in Ubuntu 13.10) in order to take some
screenshots of an unconfigured install. However, there was obviously
some sort of problem with Unity, because I had no indicators in the
panel. That's obviously a separate bug, but what was most unpleasant
was that in that situation there is no sane way to get out of that
guest session without powercycling the machine. There are no
indicators and thus no system indicator with the user switcher or "log
out". The guest user cannot lock the screen to get at the screen
locker's "Switch User..." button in that situation (because there is
no system indicator with a "Lock..." entry, and Ctrl+Alt+L doesn't
work, although I don't know whether Ctrl+Alt+L didn't work because the
system indicator wasn't there or because the guest user has no
password and therefore is not allowed to lock the screen). There
appears to be no process owned by the guest user named "unity" or
"unity-panel" to try killing, so "killall unity" and "killall unity-
panel" from a terminal didn't work. (Eventually I switched to a VC,
found the underlying X process for the guest user, and killed it from
there, but that's obviously not open to most.)
