I am unable to coax my front microphone port into recording audio in most
circumstances. It appears as "Front Microphone" in both the Ubuntu Sound
Settings and pavucontrol preferences windows, though I can not detect any input
in either. Interestingly, I can access the device and successfully record audio
through Audacity when explicitly selecting either
HDA Intel PCH: ALC892 Alt Analog (hw:0,2) Front Mic:0 or
HDA Intel PCH: ALC892 Alt Analog (hw:0,2) Front Mic:1
Also, I was successfully able to record audio during both the ALSA and
Pulseaudio tests when creating this bug through 'ubuntu-bug -s audio'.
