We shouldn't scare our users. I have not chosen quiet splash, I've chosen the standard bootsplash. There is no reason for 40 seconds of black screen rather than the chosen splash image.
There should be plymouth and direct transition to sddm. This certainly IS a bug which should be fixed before launch.
