This has been annoying me since I reinstalled my laptop following a disk failure recently. I finally ran across the advice to run "dconf reset -f /com/canonical/indicator/datetime/". Voila! The clock reappeared.
Then I changed the settings to add the day of week. The clock disappeared. Same thing if I add date & month. I can repeatedly break/fix the clock simply by checking/unchecking these options. The indicator-datetime-service process continues to run and does not need to be restarted or reinitialized. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to indicator-datetime in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1317288 Title: Date and time do not show up on indicator panel Status in indicator-datetime package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Date-time indicator as well as a few other indicators (e.g. cpufreq, weather) do not show up on my indicator panel even though they are installed in my system. This happened for the first time after upgrading from Ubuntu 12.04 to 14.04. It used to show up normaly before. Other indicators (e.g. keyboard, sound, multiload) show up normaly. I have tried different things like uninstalling and re-installing the missing indicators but no luck.
