Title: Unity 8 Desktop Preview session does not show (most) installed apps Status in unity-scope-click package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in unity8-desktop-session package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: Up until some time in Late March 2014 Unity 8 listed all applications installed on the system if they had an appropriate .desktop file installed. After some recent update, only a short list of applications ever show up. Event the core apps installed from ppa :ubuntu-touch-coreapps-drivers/daily, which were previously running, no longer show up. It seems that only click apps are now runnable from Unity 8, making it impossible to develop and test apps on Unity 7 and verify in Unity 8 on the desktop.
