Cannot down grade away from natty

Bug description:
I filed this against ubuntu-desktop as I could not find a better
place. The problem is the natty upgrade installed a version of
postscript that breaks on my files, and some othe things (why Unity?
FFS why fix what is not broken? But I can and have turned that off) I
want to back out. But I am stuck.
For any upgrade there should be a downgrade path
