Public bug reported:

When trying to upgrade Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS (Noble Numbat), the package
linux-firmware_20240318.git3b128b60-0ubuntu2.17_amd64.deb fails to
download from http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/l/linux-
firmware/.

The server returns a 500 Internal Server Error. Other packages upgrade
correctly, so this issue appears to be specific to the
security.ubuntu.com mirror serving the linux-firmware package.

Steps to reproduce:

Run:

sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade


Observe the error when fetching linux-firmware.

Expected result:
Package should download and install without error.

Actual result:
The following error occurs:
