you should not do that. if you want to use gcc-15 on 24.04, please
rebuild it for that distro. GCC makes assumptions about the binutils it
was built with.

Title:
g++-15 package should depend on newer binutils (2.44)

Status in binutils package in Ubuntu:
  Won't Fix

Bug description:
I was testing g++-15 on my Ubuntu 24.04, using plucky (25.04) repo. Then
g++-15 works fine on general with binutils 2.42 (from Ubuntu 24.04), but in
some situation (https://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=119657) it
explicitly required binutils 2.44 with .base64 opcodes.
Maybe I caused the bug, since I'm mixing 24.04 and 25.04, but it's worth
checking if a pure 25.04 setup with g++-15 comes with newer binutils, to avoid
this bug.
  Thanks!
