I just did a small test (extracting and changing LD_LIBRARY_PATH to the correct version) with procps_4.0.4-7ubuntu1_amd64.deb and libproc2-0_4.0.4-7ubuntu1_amd64.deb.
And that shows the same behaviour as the procps (4.0.4-4ubuntu3.2) and libproc2-0 (2:4.0.4-4ubuntu3.2) from the OS installation. So it seems to be also broken in the latest version. ** Bug watch added: gitlab.com/procps-ng/procps/-/issues #358 https://gitlab.com/procps-ng/procps/-/issues/358 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to procps in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2092307 Title: w doesn't show TTYs Status in procps package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: In fully updated Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS the `w` command doesn't show controlling TTYs: 19:18:11 up 3 days, 3:48, 2 users, load average: 0.00, 0.02, 0.00 USER TTY FROM LOGIN@ IDLE JCPU PCPU WHAT redacted1 192.168.1.2 Wed15 2:11m 0.00s 0.03s sshd: redacted1 [priv] redacted2 192.168.1.3 19:09 0:00s 0.00s 0.03s sshd: redacted2 [priv] Ubuntu 22 and 20 are not affected.
