Spending more time on it, the issue is linked to udev rules introduced between 21/12 and 20/01 (time frame between my 2 system update).
concerned rule: /etc/udev/rules.d/64-ext4.rules behavior: ext4 not mounted on purpose I guess this is written somewhere and normal on Ubuntu server, weird on desktop without popup notification. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to policykit-1 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2095362 Title: RPI4 with Ubuntu 24.10: data disk not mounted after reboot Status in policykit-1 package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Updating (as regularly) my RPI4 this morning result with a data disk not mounted.
