If you then find the bug is still present in the newer Ubuntu version, please add a comment here telling us which new version it is in. ** Changed in: initramfs-tools (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to initramfs-tools in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/600903 Title: dpkg, apt-get, and update manager (partial upgrade) lock up when updating initramfs-tools Status in initramfs-tools package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: i was installing updates on my ubuntu 10.10 tower (i686), and it always locks when updating initramfs-tools. it is creating some boot file (i do not know off the top of my head, i will post it as soon as i know what it is) when it locks. i tried apt-get, it made me run dpkg --configure -a to resume-installation, no surprise, but that locked too. using update manager, of course, made me do a partial upgrade, but again, locked at the exact same point. now i am stuck with a computer that is incapable of installing software or updates...
