Title:
Logitech Unifying Receiver does not initialise properly

Status in initramfs-tools package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
This is on an ASUS N56VZ laptop fresh 12.10 Quantal install, trying to
use a Logitech M570 trackball that comes with a unifying rf receiver.

That's what happens most of the time.
Sometimes it does work (same USB port) and then the trackball works (paired
and operational):

(logitech-djreceiver is module hid_logitech_dj which is part of
  initramfs-tools)

More detail attached including USB traces both of when it fails and when it
