If someone learns about Klondike from a friend and wants to play, they look for the Klondike game. Dismissing the bug and giving a lesson in linguistics and how they might select "Canfield" if their computer language is set to English (UK) is just plain weird.
This presents as a good case study in why sometimes it's better to surface differences in language, rather than trying to present a "consistent" experience. Displaying something like "Klondike [US] / Canfield [UK] / Patience [AU]" would be far better than trying to hide the ambiguity behind translations. Showing all the common names would give British residents a decent chance of knowing which game to select if they wanted to play "Canfield" as suggested by their friends in New York. Sure, it's not as pretty, but it's far less ugly than the whole "Klondike never available in AisleRiot Solitaire" situation. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to language-pack-gnome-en in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/406830 Title: Klondike never available in AisleRiot Solitaire Status in language-pack-gnome-en package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: Binary package hint: gnome-games I've used Ubuntu since Hardy, and I've installed Hardy, Intrepid and Jaunty on several different computers.
