Public bug reported: [SRU] Add Quectel EM05-G/EM05-CN PID information to support WWAN LVFS
[ Impact ] The modemmanager v1.20.0 doesn't have Quectel EM05-G/EM05-CN PID (0x311/0x312) information. Fwupd can't base on modemmanager to identify the modem for supporting WWAN LVFS on a x86-based platform with Intel EHL, which is working with Jammy. (lp: #2019555) [ Test Plan ] Under Jammy environment, check fwupd (snap version) can identify EM05-G/EM05-CN modems to support WWAN LVFS on the target platform $ fwupdmgr refresh --force $ sudo fwupdmgr install # Select EM05-G/EM05-CN [ Where problems could occur ] The EM05-G/EM05-CN PID information is upstreamed to modemmanager v1.20.4 1. https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mobile-broadband/ModemManager/-/commit/b43cae70b078ee1af5b454cfd2b452e8dc711453 2. https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mobile-broadband/ModemManager/-/commit/e30b3a07a8d0f2bf5676cdcaf74da76f4af98b63 The Lunar and Mantic already working with modemmanager v1.20.4. The Lenovo SE10 platform WWAN LVFS function works well on Lunar and Mantic.
