Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.
On package upgrade, tzdata reads the /etc/localtime symlink. If
/etc/localtime pointed to
/usr/share/zoneinfo/America/Indiana/Indianapolis before the package
upgrade, it is a tzdata bug. Otherwise the problem lies somewhere else.
Since this bug is very old, I am closing it as invalid (due to a lack of
more information). If you have seen such behavior recently, please
reopen this bug or open a new bug report.

Bug description:
Binary package hint: tzdata
At install I selected America/Indiana/Indianapolis as my timezone.
After the most recent update to tzdata (2011e-1) my timezone was
changed to America/Adak. Here are the relevant lines from the
terminal during install:
Setting up tzdata (2011e-1) ...
Current default time zone: 'America/Adak'
Local time is now: Mon Apr 4 13:46:31 HADT 2011.
Universal Time is now: Mon Apr 4 22:46:31 UTC 2011.
Run 'dpkg-reconfigure tzdata' if you wish to change it.
The UTC time listed was correct however the local time was not. Manually
changing my timezone back to America/Indiana/Indianapolis using
'dpkg-reconfigure tzdata' as recommended fixed the problem.
