I therefore clicked the Cancel button on the "Collecting problem information / Information is being collected that may help the developers fix the problem you report." dialog that had popped up. It hung, i.e., the back-and-forth progress bar in the dialog stopped moving, and nothing else happened, and it's still sitting several minutes later doing nothing.
