Title:
Mesa project recommends disabling LTO, can cause strange errors

Status in mesa package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
The Mesa project has received several bug reports where LTO has caused
strange bugs.
  See:
  https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/issues/7743

  https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/issues/6911

  https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/issues/6376

When building the upcoming Mesa 22.3 in the same way as Ubuntu & Debian does
in my PPA I ran into this issue.
So this is a heads-up that it might be best to disable LTO after all.
