I also have the problem with the HDMI sound. It is Xubuntu 22.04. On an HP G2 800 DM Mini, the audio works fine. After connecting a monitor via DisplayPort+HDMI everything is ok. The HDMI port appears in the choices and works. (It ist HA Intel PCH and HDMI , via aplay -l) )
Transferring an image (True Image) to an HP G5 400 DM Mini causes problems with the HDMI audio. Several "HDMI ...not plugged in" appears in the Output selection. (although it is plugged in). You can select it, but it doesn't work. (Here only HDA INTEL PCH is shown) Even if I use a live Xubuntu with a USB stick, the HDMI sound doesn't work. Whether Vxd and Vtd (Virtualization) is activated in the bios or not makes no difference. It still doesn't work. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to alsa-driver in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1970050 Title: [H97M-HD3, Intel Haswell HDMI, Digital Out, HDMI] No sound at all because of upgrade from 20.04 LTS to 22.04 Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: After upgrading today from 20.04 LTS to 22.04 HDMI Audio does not work at all.
