Thanks for the bug report.

The white screen problem is bug 1965882. But there are more reasons to
avoid the 'nouveau' driver and it's probably the cause of your other
issues too. Please open the 'Additional Drivers' app and install the
official Nvidia driver with that.

Title:
[nouveau] Xorg crash / Graphics Issue

Status in mutter package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
I am using a wayland display manager, an internal graphics / Dedicated
Graphics laptop where the HDMI is controlled by the dedicated
graphics. Currently, with proprietary drivers on ubuntu 22.04

When I connect a display to the hdmi it only shows a white screen,
when I try to change the projection to mirror, or external only, it
crashes and goes back onto the logon screen. I currently cannot cast
at all to a monitor. The monitor I am trying to connect is a 4k and my
laptop screen is 1080p if that makes a difference. I am sure I am not
the only one who uses this feature, but because I have a mixture of
internal and dedicated control, it may have more an issue.
