CIFS is very handy when PXE booting Ubuntu LTS Desktop live from Windows OSs as Serva does it here. http://vercot.com/~serva/an/NonWindowsPXE3.html The inclusion of des_generic.ko and md4.ko within initrd.lz would avoid the need of loading manually made complementary initrd files. I hope you guys can add these 2 files for 12.04.3 considering this is an LTS.
