Frankly that went over my head, so unsure how to respond. :) I used a VM to test (manually updating by installing a deb) and all issues disappeared - that was my "test". I suppose that's not good enough according to your comment.
Perhaps let's just close this issue? I'll need to wait for ubuntu 22. (BTW: when you work on a new ubuntu version, do you just upgrade to the latest package version, or do you follow the same approach you explained above? i.e. you never just upgrade to "latest".) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to logrotate in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1928327 Title: logrotate on 20.04 is ancient and misses important bugfixes Status in logrotate package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Ubuntu focal/20.04 has logrotate version 3.14.0 which is ancient. There have been multiple important bugfixes since then (https://github.com/logrotate/logrotate/releases). Ubuntu hirsute/21.04 does include the latest version, but that isn't an LTS version, so is not an option for many of us. Please consider adding the latest version to the 20.04 apt repository? (I'm aware of workarounds such as installing manually, building from source, etc. But like most users I prefer to rely on the apt repositories.) Thanks!!!
