Public bug reported:

When the selected keymap is fr-bepo_afnor (XKBLAYOUT="fr"
XKBVARIANT="bepo_afnor", selectable in settings or in the installer),
the password prompt to unlock the partitions on boot will be in QWERTY,
which you might only guess after a lot of trial and error.

I don't know how keymaps work in Ubuntu, but this might be because of
this bug in ckbcomp, that generates invalid linux keymaps, which makes
them fail to load:

https://bugs.debian.org/984427

The debian bug (which I reported) has an attached patch for ckbcomp to
make it generate a valid keymap instead.

** Affects: console-setup (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
