This looks like the result of filesystem corruption, not a bug in Ubuntu. It is certainly not a bug in the base-files package, which does not provide the mv command (this is provided by the coreutils package). Please try rebooting, which should result in a filesystem check, and see if the problem persists. Be prepared for the possibility that you will have to reinstall your Ubuntu system due to filesystem corruption at a very basic level. ** Changed in: base-files (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to base-files in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1914920 Title: package base-files 11ubuntu5 failed to install/upgrade: new base-files package pre-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 127 Status in base-files package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Update after new installation get error ProblemType: Package DistroRelease: Ubuntu 20.04 Package: base-files 11ubuntu5 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.8.0-41.46~20.04.1-generic 5.8.18 Uname: Linux 5.8.0-41-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu27 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckResult: skip Date: Sun Feb 7 12:58:18 2021 ErrorMessage: new base-files package pre-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 127 InstallationDate: Installed on 2021-02-07 (0 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 20.04 LTS "Focal Fossa" - Release amd64 (20200423) Python3Details: /usr/bin/python3.8, Python 3.8.2, python3-minimal, 3.8.2-0ubuntu2 PythonDetails: N/A RelatedPackageVersions: dpkg 1.19.7ubuntu3 apt 2.0.2 SourcePackage: base-files Title: package base-files 11ubuntu5 failed to install/upgrade: new base-files package pre-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 127 UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/base-files/+bug/1914920/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages Post to : touch-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
