When the weekly update runs, it automatically replaces the correct driver with version r8169. This causes the Ethernet connection to not work at all. Fix: Manually remove r8169 driver and reinstall the Realtek r8125 driver downloaded from Realtek website. Additionally, I have tried to blacklist the r8169 driver in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf as # Blacklist bad ethernet driver blacklist r8169 This caused the updater to remove the r8125 driver, but not replace it with anything (as far as I can tell). There are no files under /var/log/dist-upgrade (directory is empty).
