As mentioned in comment #37 the internal mic works well with Ubuntu 20.04 live mode. I haven't tried installing Ubuntu 20.04 though, as some report the mic doesn't work once installed.
I wish I knew more and had the time to understand the difference (beyond kernel) between Ubuntu 20.04 live mode and non-live mode. I'm currently running Ubuntu 19.10. Let me know if there is something I can test to understand why Ubuntu 20.04 live mode works. The microphone works perfectly on Windows 10 (present in Dual boot mode). Initially, Internal Microphone was not even detected but installing alsa-tools-gui and overriding pin 0x12 to the Internal Microphone fixed that issue. [Pin 0x13 does not work and causes static in a headphone if it is plugged in.] Microphone is not able to pick up any sound.
