This causes problems with any mixer that is controlling one of the three causing the problem, as it is often the case with media keys.. This is a sure way to kill any sound without the ability to raise it again without going into the mixer and setting all the channels that were set to zero to something else. I've tested with media keys (XFCE4-volumed) XFCE4-Mixer & Alsamixer. as soon as Master reach zero, I cannot get it back up again with the same button/channel, I have to modify at least three (Master, PCM & Front) to get any sound back.
