Title:
  Microphone input gets scrambled

Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
When I talk into my external microphone, the input gets scrambled:
Some parts get completely lost, other parts are played back at higher
speed. This makes e.g. pidgin voice call unusable. This is a
regression, that is already present in Lucid and still in Maverick
daily-live of today (09-17). Works in Karmic.

Any more information, I can provide?
