You have been subscribed to a public bug: Ubuntu 20.04 Using kernel 5.4.0-9-generic, the right channel is dead and the left channel is garbled and has extra volume. Until today (1/21) using kernel 5.3.0-24, the problem did not occur. With a software update done today, now using 5.3.0-24, both channels are garbled, and 5.4.0-9 the problem is as described above.
