So, it seems I've hit this bug, and I'm running 14.04.1. This is with a GN Netcom 2000 USB headset. It worked in 12.04, but I am now hitting this bug in 14.04. Is there a udev rule I could add that would introduce a delay after this device's initialization is started so that it would be fully initialized by the time Pulse Audio went to look at it?
Details here: https://askubuntu.com/questions/537166/usb-audio-device- not-fully-working-after-hotplug -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to pulseaudio in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/841433 Title: Hotplug of USB 7.1 soundcard not detected properly Status in “pulseaudio” package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: Plugging in a Turtle Beach Audio Advantage Roadie USB 7.1 card shows up in the pulseaudio hardware list as "1 Input" "Analog Stereo Input". However, once I reboot pulseaudio (killall pulseaudio, gnome session autorestarts it), then I get "1 Output/1 Input" "Analog Stereo Duplex". In other words, it works perfectly when pulseaudio starts after the USB device has been plugged in, but hotplugging it leads to my soundcard being detected as just an input device, not a duplex device.
