I'll try to update it for Bionic to closer match the upcoming kernel number. That would at least make the upcoming LTS somewhat in sync with iproute.
But I'm not sure how reasonable and doable it is to doa bump e.g. 4.9->4.13 in Artful. We can think about that after the former action. I'm adding tasks for the older releases so that a close for Bionic won't totally close the bug. ** Also affects: iproute2 (Ubuntu Artful) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: iproute2 (Ubuntu Zesty) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: iproute2 (Ubuntu Bionic) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: iproute2 (Ubuntu Bionic) Status: New => Triaged -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to iproute2 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1726730 Title: IPRoute pkg is in different version than kernel Status in iproute2 package in Ubuntu: Triaged Status in iproute2 source package in Zesty: New Status in iproute2 source package in Artful: New Status in iproute2 source package in Bionic: Triaged Bug description: Hello, At the moment there is a problem with Iproute package in Zesty and artful. In Zesty the kernel version is 4.10.0, and the Iproute package is 4.9.0. In Artful the kernel version is 4.13, and the Iproute is 4.9.0 too. This is causing some problems in the BPF/XDP setup, some code is in the kernel but doesn't have the same version in Iproute, so it'll fail. Found the problem using cilium project <https://github.com/cilium/cilium/issues/1822> and the problem was validated by Daniel Borkmann (iproute mantainer) I didn't find any related bug related to updating. If you need help to test/update, I can help you. Regards and many thanks.
