Sometimes it just plays random sound effects set up in my Evolution mail filters. The widgets that cause this are different each time I launch Evolution, but in each Evolution session, the same widget has the same strange effect each time I use it. This pheromone often affects other applications. For example, clicking a button in Evolution will make streaming audio or other Flash sound in Chrome inaudible. Sometimes refreshing the page makes sound come back, but I've also had to restart Chrome a couple of times. The player doesn't seem to notice. Also, while playing MP3s in Totem, this error shows up: 'pa_stream_writable_size() failed: Connection terminated' (see Bug #496616). It also causes errors in RhythmBox. I don't expect these actions to make sounds at all. I don't expect these actions to affect other applications. My system: 64-bit Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic) on a Lenovo W700 quadcore with 3GB RAM. Evolution 2.28.1-0ubuntu2. Totem Movie Player 2.28.2-0ubuntu3. RhythmBox 0.12.5-0ubuntu5.2. Google Chrome 5.0.375.70 beta.
