this could happen if you have multiple contacts with the same phone number.. Could you provide exact steps to reproduce this please, as I am not encountering this issue.

Gives me the creeps when it looks as if I sent a text to the wrong recipient, until I find out that the messaging app is only "kidding". Going back, the intended conversation shows at the top of the conversations as it should, and reentering that conversation also shows the correct contact.
