Title:
TLD key (.com/.co.uk/etc) inserts period even when there already is
  one

Status in ubuntu-keyboard package in Ubuntu:
  In Progress

Bug description:
  1. In the Browser app, tap in the address field.
  2. Type “example.” with a period (full stop) at the end.

“.com” key.
  4. Tap “.com”.

  What you get: “example..com”
  What you should get: “example.com”

It may save time to fix bug 1473590 at the same time as this bug.
