Resizing of native Mir servers in a VM already works (last tested in VirtualBox). It appears you're just suffering from bug 1669034. ** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 1669034 Display mode changes made directly to the system compositor are not reflected in the nested Mir server -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to mir in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1670713 Title: Automatic screen resizing for virtual machines Status in Canonical System Image: New Status in Mir: New Status in mir package in Ubuntu: New Status in qtmir package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Status in unity8 package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Currently when you resize the virtual display in qemu (with QXL/spice display) the unity8 screen resolution stays the same. However in e.g. Gnome3, the shell is informed of a suggestion to change size, and complies. There appears to be an emerging de-facto standard in virtual display resizing, as described below by Thomas Hellstrom <thellst...@vmware.com> from VMware, which is supported by both qemu and VMware.
