Public bug reported: apport has a build-dep and python[3]-apport depends on lsb-release, however apport/packaging.py only uses this as a fallback after looking at /etc/os-release.
That being said backends/packaging-apt-dpkg.py contains a get_distro_codename function which doesn't use /etc/os-release. ** Affects: apport (Ubuntu) Importance: Low Status: Triaged ** Affects: apport (Ubuntu Zesty) Importance: Low Status: Triaged ** Tags: zesty ** Tags added: zesty ** Also affects: apport (Ubuntu Zesty) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: apport (Ubuntu Zesty) Status: New => Triaged ** Changed in: apport (Ubuntu Zesty) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: apport (Ubuntu Zesty) Importance: Medium => Low -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to apport in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1662619 Title: dependencies on lsb-release should be reevaluated Status in apport package in Ubuntu: Triaged Status in apport source package in Zesty: Triaged Bug description: apport has a build-dep and python[3]-apport depends on lsb-release, however apport/packaging.py only uses this as a fallback after looking at /etc/os-release.
