Title:
Indicators do not work properly with vanilla GTK+

Status in gtk+3.0 package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
On systems without the gtk-custom-menu-items.patch (e.g. on Arch Linux), the
Messaging Menu does not work properly (see the attached screenshot):
  - When I toggle my chat status, I can see dots before more than one menu
items.
  - Changing chat status does not always have effect.
  - Checkmarks are displayed before the application menu items when I click on
it.

Please fix these problems and send the gtk-custom-menu-items.patch to
  the upstream developers.
