I've been seeing this error since I came from Unity(Ubuntu 14.04) to Gnome. I solved this problem trying this steps:
$ sudo apt-get install lightdm-gtk-greeter $ sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade $ sudo reboot Then my entire login interface changed(the options of interfaces moved to top right), but not to worry, they still there.
