The easiest way to stop something from autosyncing is to use an ubuntu# version number! :)
We could just wait for the Qt 5.7 transition (in January I think): bug 1640290 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to qtwebkit-opensource-src in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1652166 Title: Sync qtwebkit-opensource-src from Debian (enable webp) Status in qtwebkit-opensource-src package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: The last merge from Debian has this changelog entry: * Sync with Debian packaging, remaining changes: - Build without WebP (in universe) - Own .symbols file https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qtwebkit-opensource-src/5.6.1 +dfsg-4ubuntu1~2 But libwebp is in main and has been for a while. The only part that's in universe is the webp binary package which is not a dependency of anything (and honestly I don't know why it's not in main too, it's not mentioned on the MIR LP: #1186553 ) https://people.canonical.com/~ubuntu- archive/madison.cgi?package=libwebp&S=on That leaves the only change as using an Ubuntu-specific symbols file. I don't know how Qt symbols work but maybe that's not needed anymore.
