I was unable to reproduce this in a LXD 14.04 container:

If you have steps to reproduce that would be very helpful, as of right
now this looks to be working as expected. Your dpkg terminal log has a
number of issues in it which may be unrelated to the install of python-
six, but does show missing packages.

I am marking this incomplete for now until we have a way of reproducing.
