Title:
No weather information in gnome panel

Status in libgweather package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
This bug is not new. But I opening it because when I tried to reopen the bug
which which people thought was fixed (but which still persisted for me),
someone advised that I rather open a new one. The bug I'm referring to is
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-panel/+bug/216197.
This bug relates to the world clock applet in the gnome-panel which also
shows weather when configured to do so.
Before 8.10 I could see the weather conditions of both manually added
locations and locations which were already in the list (whether I was behind
proxy or directly connected to internet). After upgrading to intripid only
locations in the list worked I did nto get weather report for location which I
manually added by inserting their name/longitude/latitude manually. Now in
jaunty none works when I'm working behind a proxy- but this is a different
upstream bug (http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=579434).
The reason I am opening this bug is that the clock applet is unable to show
whether of manually added locations even when one is directly connected to the
internet. This used to work fine in hardy both when directly connected to the
internet and when connected from behind a proxy (which doesn't work any more,
even for locations in the list).
