It does require some input from design. Implementing something that
works is the easy part, making sure it’s consistent and good UX and UI
usually is trickier (and the reason why app design is not left to
developers).

That said, I agree with you that it’s important, I’ll poke the design
team again to get some feedback.

Bug description:
  I've seen this a long time ago but held back to file a bug because I
  thought it's something easy to see and most probably will be fixed
  soon but no I was wrong. Until now searching in the web browser
  history is not possible on phones. It is only available on tablets.
