** Description changed:

Ubuntu Touch is not displaying characters of many Indic scripts
including Bengali (except Devnagari). Any app or webpage containing
characters from these scripts are shown blank.

A quick examination of /usr/share/fonts showed that the required fonts
were missing. After I added fonts myself, rendering was okay. I am
proposing the addition of the following packages.

  ttf-bengali-fonts
  ttf-gujarati-fonts
  ttf-kannada-fonts

- These packages would allow the rendering of the most popular indic fonts
- in use.
+ These packages would allow the rendering of the most popular indic fonts in

+ ----------------------------------------------------------------------
+ Other indic font packages:
+ ttf-tamil-fonts
+ ttf-malayalam-fonts
+ ttf-punjabi-fonts
+ ttf-telugu-fonts
+ ttf-oriya-fonts
+
+ ttf-indic-fonts contains them all.
