My proposal: Maybe below (or instead of it) that blue circle/rectangle with cursor (in words.png attachment), there should be magnifier button. And when we hit and hold it, it should work similar to that in TexStudio (please see attachments 'without zoom.png' and 'with zoom.png'). It should zoom some round area (and move zoomed area with cursor while finger move) - I think that should improve selecting exact character that we want to. Or solution similar that is in Flyme OS? Please see 'FlymeOS solution.mp4', to look how it's implemented.
