Confirmed: No resolution configuration GUI however that's not the
problem. If you're using an LCD then there is only one correct
resolution.

Font problems -> bug 1536751
Cursor size -> You might need to log a new bug for that, as I can see that many 
people will find the large cursor ugly.

Bug description:
  In my desktop unity8 is clearly in the wrong resolution:
   - the font in the titlebar is quite pixelated
   - the cursor is huge

  It would be required to have a setting like the one in unity7 to set
  the correct resolution of the screen.
