Public bug reported: Xubuntu 14.04.4 LTS SSD is only drive (/dev/sda) /dev/sda1 is boot partition /dev/sda5 is encrypted LUKS partition logical volumes sit on top of the LUKS partition
package: lvm2 2.02.98-6ubuntu2 problem type: Crash title: lvm crashed with SIGSEGV in lv_is_merging_cow() This bug is repeatable. If I create a LVM snapshot of lvroot (mounted to /) and run lvconvert --merge to restore the snapshot, after rebooting, this error report is generated. However, if instead of running lvconvert --merge inside the system, I boot into a live ISO session and run lvconvert --merge, the process completes without any error being reported.
