it would seem that a bt mouse pairing going missing/sleeping is a fairly common occurrence. barring a formal design team answer, can we not do something "better" for this in the interim like you hint at? e.g. keyboard presence retaining the mode?

If I set desktop mode on manually and then pair a bt mouse, when the bt mouse is switch off desktop mode resets to tablet mode. The problem is that if the mouse goes to sleep or loses the connection, tablet mode kicks in and I am told to switch off my xapps. This seems to happen very often.
