Thanks Jane. Many of us share these concerns and they're already being tracked in: bug 1355093, bug 1335789 Also related is bug 1350348. ** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 1355093 Inconsistent spinning-logo screens for startup and system image update -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to unity-system-compositor in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1367696 Title: spinning Ubuntu logo on update & boot feels frantic and not very classy Status in Ubuntu UX bugs: Triaged Status in “unity-system-compositor” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: There is a large spinning Ubuntu logo during updates and a small spinning Ubuntu logo during the boot process. I think there are two problems with this: - whatever the progress indicator is should be consistent (not one large and one small), - more importantly, this progress indicator feels frantic, cheap and off brand to me. The desktop has the word Ubuntu with dots which change colour to indicate progress. That feels classier to me. Is there a specific reason we have diverged from an existing (and excellent) solution? Isn't this unnecessary divergence for the phone?
