text and icons sometimes dissapear

Bug description:
Icons and things in the dropdown settings sometime dissapear, (see
screenshots) http://imgur.com/a/EPoYU
The dropdown notification center with the calendar also sometimes has the
calendar missing. This always happens after waking up from sleep and can be
fixed by pressing alt+f2 and typing r
I don't know whether or not this is a xorg bug or a gnome bug.
