realize things have changed quite a bunch since this bug was logged. but we do have an activity ongoing investigating potential areas of improvement for dash/scope scrolling and swiping.
We really should consider some investigation just into the flow as outlined by 2) of comment #7 above. ** Changed in: unity8 (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Albert Astals Cid (aacid) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to unity8 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1497611 Title: navigation through scopes very slow Status in Canonical System Image: Confirmed Status in unity-scopes-shell package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in unity8 package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: I an using a Meizu MX4 with software version 15.04 (r4). Even though this is a powerfull phone moving between scopes is still laggy and slow also some auto refresh as you move to them. I would like to suggest that auto refresh takes place in the background so all scopes are ready when you flick through them. Also I wonder if a scope selection system would be a good idea so you could just direct to the scope you want and not have to scroll through many scopes before reaching the one you wish to use. Note, The Today scope is improving slowly and the time for each item to show is reducing, but basically its still far too slow to be the main scope. If you refresh say the BBC news scope it completes in a 2 seconds, the today scope still takes 10s (even after fixing the delay to show calls and texts). I understand people are working very hard to improve this key area.
