Still an issue on Ubuntu 16.04. I'm seeing the login prompt instead of
just a blinking cursor. I need to log in and run `sudo systemctl restart
lightdm.service`. Random occurance at ca. 5 % of boots.

Why has this been marked invalid without a comment?

Title:
Start laptop and login screen doesn't appear

Status in lightdm package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
This seems to occur randomly. Upon Restarting or starting my laptop
when it reaches the point of logging in (or when the sound of the boot
finishing with the drums occurs) I will sometimes be greeted with a
blank black screen with my cursor also present. I can then pres ctrl +
alt + F1 stop lightdm and then start it once again and then procede to
log in and use the laptop as I normally would.
