Still an issue on Ubuntu 16.04. I'm seeing the login prompt instead of just a blinking cursor. I need to log in and run `sudo systemctl restart lightdm.service`. Random occurance at ca. 5 % of boots.

Upon Restarting or starting my laptop when it reaches the point of logging in (or when the sound of the boot finishing with the drums occurs) I will sometimes be greeted with a blank black screen with my cursor also present. I can then pres ctrl + alt + F1 stop lightdm and then start it once again and then procede to log in and use the laptop as I normally would.
